Now Hiring!

We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Receptionist (Part-time, starts April 2012): The receptionist greets visitors to the Leopold Center at our welcome desk, orients visitors to program options and the work of the Aldo Leopold Foundation, recruits new members, processes merchandise orders, and provides administrative support to all departments. Click for a full position description, qualifications and more information on how to apply.

Tour guide (per diem, opportunities throughout the year): We rely on a corps of on-call per-diem tour guides to help lead tours of the Shack and Leopold Center when we can't cover them with our own staff alone. We often need extra tour guides on Saturdays, but there are also weekday opportunities. Guides will go through training (Saturday, April 14, 2012) and self-directed study to gain the knowledge and ability to present 2 - 3 hour tour programs for visitors. Click for a full position description, qualifications and more information on how to apply.

Interns

Benjamin Van Thiel is a nature enthusiast with roots from Combined Locks, Wisconsin. In 2011 he graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point with a BS in Natural Resource Policy. Benjamin's key professional interests include ecological restoration, renewable energy, and environmental education. His personal hobbies include skiing, cycling, banjo pickin', gardening, and camping, and it is not uncommon to find Benjamin out foraging for wild foods in his spare time.

Leann Wolthusen grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, but spent summers exploring the outdoors in Necedah, WI and Lake of the Ozarks, MO.  She pursued her Associates Degree of Science from the College of DuPage, followed by a B.S. in Wildlife Habitat Management program at Arizona State University. Her interest in animals has been a driving force for many years, and she looks forward to being part of an applied program that focuses on ecological restoration here at the Leopold Foundation.
